On Xerochrysum bracteatum flowers, of which there is a large patch in flower next to our track, pulling in lots of insects. These are 2 individuals, one with yellow ground colour and one orange, but the same pattern of black patches. According to web sources, they feed on aphids and overwinter as adults, so presumably these have recently emerged from wherever they spent the winter and are in search of a feed. Can't say I noticed any aphids in the vicinity.
