Resprouting after a cool burn in our orchard on 28 July, despite an almost complete lack of rain since then (7.5mm) and the fact that the soil was pretty dry at the time. This species has increased considerably in the orchard since we started burning the Themeda instead of mowing it. We often see large swathes of it in flower (if the roos don't eat it, which they sometimes do in a dry year).
