Found on Acacia mearnsii sapling. (typical on our place)
photo 1 - shows a multi generational habitat; emerged pupae, intact pupae and larvae in the process of pupating. It is interesting that the larvae having first stripped the foliage from the upper branches of these saplings then choose to pupate on the exposed stems.

Photo 3 - two caterpillars, heavily attended, still feeding in the body of the plant. Attending ants look like Iridomyrmex sp.
