Author's notes

Photo 1 - A single flower at the pink end of the color spectrum. Photo 2 - A double flower towards the white. (most flowers were singles) Photo 3 & 4 - A flower with a pollinium (Pollen mass) visible. Perhaps deposited by an insect as it is outside the flower.

The 176 I counted over an area of about 30 x 30m is a big increase on past years, and an expansion of the area they occur in as well, which used to be more like 10 x 10m. Obviously the rainfall pattern this year suited them. I even saw a single plant a few days later about 50m downhill from the main population, so maybe next year we'll have two populations..

I'm so jealous of your populations - I think 30 is the largest I've seen in the Shoalhaven in six years of looking.
