There aren't as many as there used to be ,unfortunately they get regularly mown down by the council...as a fire break ! Have been there for years and I've tried to save them by asking the contractor if it is really necessary to flatten them.Liz

Well they actually seem to like a bit of disturbance - come up after fires and then gradually dwindle away again - so perhaps the mower bloke is doing them a good turn by disturbing the area regularly! But if they don't get a chance to seed, that wouldn't be good for the population.
