Author's notes

Clustered on Lion's Tail, Leonotis leonurus, which like Horehound is in the mint family. All the sources I checked on the web suggest this bug is native to Australia and yet all the plants it is photographed on, on CNM and ALCW, and any other website I could find it on, are exotics. Puzzling. A bit like Musgravea sulciventris; one has to wonder what they ate before we came along with our garden plants.

Papilio aegeus is another one that's probably benefited from the arrival of a new range of palatable host plants introduced by us, in terms of being able to increase its abundance and expand its range. I'm sure neither of the citrus feeders would have found anything to eat on the Limestone Plains prior to Canberra's existence.
