Gum TreeEucalyptus stricta

Unnamed at South East Forest National Park

Eucalyptus stricta at South East Forest National Park - 10 Apr 2019

Identification history

Gum Tree Eucalyptus stricta 13 Apr 2019 JackieMiles

Author's notes

Resprouting vigorously (up to 1.5m already) after a relatively low intensity fire on the cliff edge 7 months previously (much of this fire was very high intensity, but not at this location). I'd prefer to think of this species as Eucalyptus spectatrix, a local endemic, which it is still in PlantNet as, but apparently someone has decreed it should be lumped into E. stricta from the Sydney Basin, despite a rather large disjunction in distribution.
