Hi Libby, the buds suggest it might be a lily rather than a grass, but I can't ID it on those photos. Maybe if you were to slip back there in another week or so flowering might be more advanced. Nice python by the way - better keep your windows closed!

Ok Jackie, I will tryt that. There was another interesting plant near the water with big leaves and a pinkish purplish flower that I didn't get a good photo of. I will take my big camera and see what I can do. Yes, we don't want the python inside, lovely though it is!
