Author's notes

The leaves are not clumped, which suggests the plant is stoloniferous, plus leaves are glossy, and about as wide as long, all of which points to the thing formerly called Villarsia reniformis, not V. exaltata (sorry, Liparophyllum exaltatum). How two practically indistinguishable plants could wind up in different genera is beyond me! The Vic Flora and PlantNet websites weren't terribly helpful, but comparing my flower photo with the line drawings in the NSW Flora, the flower detail also looks more like reniformis. Very abundant in Bar Beach swamp near entrance to Wagonga Inlet.

Hi Betty, Glad you agree. It gave me a fair bit of angst working it out.
