Paul is this growing in soil or on mossy wood?

Not sure, Teresa. I removed the one specimen in the third image by hand and it seemed to be in mossy soil. But it could have been associated with a tree root.

L. pyriforme is usually on wood while L. perlatum usually grows in soil and I always get these two confused, so please forgive me if I've got it backwards this time
