growing in soil in allocasuarina/eucalypt forest. spores 10x8µm. smooth surface. spore print white. many Rove Beetles (family Staphylinidae) in gills. (see sighting at https://atlasoflife.naturemapr.org/Community/Sightings/Edit/4204495)

Paul this Amanita looks similar to those in the A. ochrophylla group and a couple of us have been seeing it up our way, though the surface ornamentation doesn't gel! Don't know the species name at present though I'm sending a dried specimen to Michael Priest at DAR Orange, our state fungal herbarium, for him to have a look at. Also thanks so much for the Rove Beetles name, I've just been calling these things 'thrips' as I've not had time to get up with my insects.

Thanks for chasing this Pam. It seems that getting Amanita to the species level is as challenging as getting staphylinids below the family level! All good fun though.
