Author's notes

Despite the best efforts of two government bodies to wipe this population out, some plants have managed to persist/recover. I counted 29 on the eastern side of the road and only one on the cutting top on the western side, where the habitat looks very similar. There is some threat here from weeds: whisky grass, African lovegrass, and a prostrate herb called Richardia humistrata (4th photo, the larger leafed plant).
