Hi Jackie, I’m calling this one provisionally Amata nigriceps, common name Tiger Moth. It looks very similar to the moth that Kerri and I have identified on numerous occasions as such where we live in Wonboyn. However we have recently learnt that we should have been more cautious. The handbook Moths of Victoria Part 2 states that there are several forms of this species which look very similar and which may in fact be different species. Future taxonomic work is needed to sort this out. Our expert moths moderator Glenn Cocking may be able to make a call on this

This is of a different Arctiidae genus. You can pick them quickly by the pectinate antennae, which Amata do not have.
