Fallow Deer at Bournda National Park

Dama dama at Bournda National Park - 3 Jul 2018

Identification history

Deer Dama dama 3 Jul 2018 JackieMiles

Author's notes

Got no photo of the deer, but they were positively ID'd by NPWS staff as the darker-coated non-spotted form of Fallow Deer. Quite a bit of shrub browsing in the vicinity, most obviously on Correa reflexa, but also Pittosporum undulatum, Indigofera, Acacia mearnsii.
