   7 Dec 2016
This is a long way from and at the wrong time of year from what the big orchid book says. However, there is an AVH record for it just over the border in east Gippsland. The only other orchid that even comes close to what this looks like is Pterostylis hians, from Ulladulla, which is supposed to be extinct.
   7 Dec 2016
This is the only time I have seen it in flower at this location.
   7 Dec 2016
I took note of that. Accoding to the big orchid book that species flowers in spring to summer. I tried Vicflora but most of the steps in that key relate to basal leaves, unfortunately. David Jones is the one to sort it out.
   7 Dec 2016
Yes, unfortunately I was only focused on the flowers back then. Hopefully David Jones will get a chance to look at this one and the other orchids from that time.
   8 Dec 2016
Pterostylis atrans flowers in April and is in area. I was put off because the big orchid book does not mention stem leaves. Vicflora, however, does.
   8 Dec 2016
I've photographed concinna in Bounda, which looks pretty similar and was flowering in July (in Science Week), but yeah, I'd be holding out for an opinion from David.

David finally consulted on this one, and says it is probably an atypical specimen of P. alveata.
