stem off centre, curved = 40mm, cap = 45 mm, growing on wooden slats, spore colour = orange-brown, spores 9X5µm, smooth ellipsoidal

I would have expected to see more squamules both on the cap and stem for this species; not entirely sure.

Thanks Teresa. There are many other specimens of this species around our house. I’ll image some more, if that helps. Yes, I have been using Differential Interference Contrast (Nomarski) optics with 100X water immersion objectives to image neurons in living insect embryos for virtually all of my working life. I was lucky to be able to take the old, unwanted microscopy equipment into retirement and it turns out to be just the trick for imaging fungal spores and pollen. Let me know if you’d like anything imaged anytime.

WOW thanks Paul, I'll take you up on that one day, however we do live further away and that's one reason why I do not put my images up on this site; they simply fall outside the required recording zone. Currently I have have a new species undergoing DNA and SEM overseas, quite exciting, wish it could be done here....
