Author's notes

Leaves are tiny, 2-3mm long, spirally twisted, a bit tuberculate and hairy. The calyx is glabrous and the peduncle is quite short (<2mm), so I don't think it can be D. trichopoda. I see AVH has a 2015 record for Mogo area of phylicoides, and I saw some of this thing flowering somewhere on the highway verges near Mogo too.

It does not look anything like the Dillwynia phylicoides round Canberra. I have been calling the plant I found on the road that runs north from the Moruya industrial area. Dillwynia parvifolia even though Plantnet says that species only occurs round Sydney. Send a speciemen to Sydney? Or to the Canberra herbarium, which has a lot of specimens of the real phylicoides, and also a fast turnaround?

Ok, well I did keep a specimen, so I'll send it off soon. Meanwhile we better just leave it in the unidentified section. They do say that phylicoides is a species complex, due for splitting. I must admit it doesn't look much like my photos of something I'd previously ID'd as phylicoides from the Hunter Valley, Canberra herbarium with a fast turnaround? They must have lifted their game. Last time I sent them something it took 6 months to get an answer.
