Oh dear, this one doesn't look well - was it hit by a car do you think?

I dont think it was hit by a car, but i agree it does not look well ... just being out at that time of day 😣 ... i was guessing mange ... its quite common apparently 😣

Yep, that is mange. It does make them get out and about in daylight for some reason. It's pretty common in the region, treatable if you contact WIRES and can be bothered organising to tip some insecticide onto the wombat, usually by arranging some sort of delivery system at their burrow mouth, or at a wombat gate in a fence.

Danie Ondinea has supplied this information:
"Cydectin is now the approved treatment for mange in wombats and has proved very successful, even with very badly affected animals. Wildlife Rescue South Coast can provide information and support if you want to report manged wombats or if you are willing to help us treat them. Call our 24 hour Hotline 0417 238 921. For more information about mange and wombats, go to mangemanagement.org.au ”
