2 August 2018
It’s that time of year again and we hope you can join us at the Bega Civic Centre to enjoy all the fun and science on offer. We have another great Questacon science exhibition and much more: after the success of the great Science Festival last year, we are not surprised to hear that Doug Reckord has closed the schools bookings with over 1,100 already registered.
We will have the Atlas of Life displays, last year’s photography competition winners exhibition, the amazing Microeye and a variety of video and image loops telling the story of our work. We will also be using our new projector and big screen to help people exlpore the NatureMapr database and see some of the wonders it contains.
We will be launching the Beach Weeds project and promoting the Glossy Black project and describing last year’s Sea Slug Census and getting interest for this year. We will be launching the 2018 Atlas Photography competition and giving pre-publicity to the “Wings of Spring” moth and butterfly week-end coming in November.
So there’s lots of good stuff happening and beautiful images to share, as well as all the other SC Festival activities such as the Loaded Gamer, 3D printing, some new 3D vision viewers and all the exciting SCiNema films to see.
Your help would be much appreciated to make this Festival as spectacular success like last year. We really enjoyed the buzz and I am sure you will too. We need volunteers to help man the stands in the Civic Centre foyer and encourage the students to get involved and explore our stuff. I can’t be there every day this year, so your presence will be much appreciated.
If you can join us any time between 10 am and 3pm from Saturday 11th(11am opening) and Saturday 18th August please let me know
