It keys to Choretrum glomeratum. However both that and Leptomria acida have striate branchlets, which this shrub does not.

Comparing it with my photos of Choretrum and Leptomeria it seems to fit L. acida best. This whole striate branches business is confusing - I think they need not be all that strongly striate. I've spent quite a bit of time agonising over this group of shrubs!

They are edible but I haven't tried them.

With a specific name of acida I don't think I would want to try.
My feeling about terms like 'striate' is that the keys were written with dried specimens in front of the author. Fresh stuff is a different kettle of fish.

Pretty sure I've had a nibble in the past and they weren't too bad.
